(Chip) Pickering, Jr.  Republican, Mississippi (1997-2008)   Chip Pickering, a squeaky clean conservative from Mississippi, was a rising star in the Republican Party.  But now he's battling charges from his wife, Leisha, in a nasty divorce, that another woman--Elizabeth Creekmore Byrd--broke up their marriage.  Leisha is suing Elizabeth for alienation of affection, claiming that her affair with Chip broke of their marriage.   Leisha has obtained a restraining order from the Hinds County (Mississippi) Circuit Court to protect documents related to her divorce.  Ol' Chip apparently kept personal records of his alleged sexual exploits with Creekmore Byrd, which his wife has obtained and sought to use during the July 2009 divorce proceedings.   Stay tuned.  Source: Adam Lynch, "Leisha Pickering Gets Restraining Order Against Alleged Mistress," Jackson Free Press, July 17, 2009.
