CongressionalBadBoys.com | home | NRCC National Republican Congressional Committee The former treasurer of the NRCC diverted hundreds of thousands of, perhaps a million, dollars from the organization's funds into his own pockets, according to Republican officials.  This alleged scheme is described as one of the largest political frauds in recent U.S. history. Christopher J. Ward, long-time GOP fundraiser, is under FBI investigation for allegedly using wire transfers to funnel money out of  the NRCC and other political committees.  Ward had been treasurer for 83 GOP committees over the past decade.  Last big embezzlement was the taking of $1 million from the 1992 presidential campaign of the late Sen.
