Scott McInnis

Republican, Colorado (1993-2004)

The Honorable Scott McInnis, former member of Congress, was a leading candidate for governor of Colorado, but then did something stupid.  He was commissioned, for a cool $300,000 to write some "policy papers" by the Colorado-based Hasan Family Foundation.  (Anyone smell something foul yet?)

McInnis wrote the papers, but trouble is, he lifted sections from the writings of a man who is now on the Supreme Court of Colorado. McInnis blamed some other guy, but finally fessed up to the plagiarism.

The Denver Post and other newspapers, along with leading politicians of both parties have demanded that McInnis resign.
