Lawyers

Here's a rundown of the legal bills of Babboys (and potential Badboys) charged during the second quarter of 2007.

The Honorable Don Young (R-Alaska):  $262,000 to two top Washington law firms.  He's not a target, but the former staffer on his House Transportation and Infrastructure subcommittee, Mark Zachares, pled guilty to helping Jack Abramoff.

The Honorable Mark Foley (R-Florida):  He's gone from Congress, but still spent more than $277,000 in campaign funds from April through June for legal bills.

The Honorable Dennis J. Hastert (R-Illinois):  former speaker of the House was questioned by the ethics committee about the Foley matter:  $60,000 in legal fees second quarter;  $70,000 during the first quarter of 2007.

The Honorable John Boehner (R-Ohio):  spent $52,393 in civil suit against the Honorable Jim McDermott (D-Wash.), concerning a leaked copy of a conference call that Boehner participated in more than 10 years ago.

The Honorable Jerry Lewis (R-Calif.):  $31,000 in his defense over question of earmarks he allegedly provided campaign contributors.

The Honorable Rick Renzi (R-Ariz.):  $25,000;  his family business was raided by the FBI last April.

The Honorable Alan B. Mollohan (D-W.Va.):  $22,671;  his campaign contributions and investments are under investigation.

The Honorable John T. Doolittle (R-Calif.): $50,584;  close link with Abramoff.

The Honorable Curt Weldon (R-Pa.):  $25,000;  investigation of Weldon's daughter's lobbying activities.  Weldon was defeated for re-election in 2006.

The Honorable J.D. Hayworth (R-Ariz.):  $102,000;  faces scrutiny over his relationship with Abramoff.  He still owes $106,000.
