Richard T. Hanna
Democrat, California (1963-1974)
The Honorable Richard T. Hanna admitted to taking more than $200,000 in bribe money from South Korean businessman Tongsun Park as part of the influence peddling scheme known as Koreagate.
Hanna plea bargained with the government, had 39 criminal charges against him dropped, and pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy. He got 6 to 30 months in prison. He could have gotten five years in prison or $10,000 fine, or both, for that one charge. (So much for tough enforcement!)
Hanna became a member of the Congressional Prison Caucus.
